I’m an Air Force veteran and 911±¬ÁÏÍø resident who obtained a medication abortion years ago. I know how abortion bans can impact Missouri women from personal experience.
I recently attended the "" alongside 100 storytellers from across the country to mark three years since the deadly Dobbs decision that overturned the constitutional right to abortion, and to spotlight the harms of abortion bans and attacks on reproductive freedom.
I went because I once received a medication abortion to escape an abusive relationship. I went because today, I wouldn’t be able to receive the same care. I went because I live in a state where I have fewer rights than I enjoyed 10 years ago.
When the Dobbs decision was announced, Missouri was the first state to ban abortion. Even today, after a majority of Missourians voted to protect abortion care by state law, extremist Republicans in the Missouri Legislature and the Supreme Court have once again moved to strip us of our reproductive choices.

Abortion bans are killing women, and instead of taking steps to protect access to lifesaving medical care, Trump and extreme Republican officials like Sen. Josh Hawley are working to roll back our rights even further.
I hope that our elected officials in Congress listen to my post-Roe reality and that Sens. Hawley and Eric Schmitt start prioritizing the needs of their constituents.
